GOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL(S)!!

hi!
i decided at around 2am this morning whilst feeding the gorgeous puglet that i need to get some craft time into my days.
they are just flying by in a blur of activities, feeding, settling, driving, trampolining....:)
so....
i have set myself a goal of doing a bit of sewing every day....even if it is just 5 minutes. and also set myself the goal of blogging once a week.
I think otherwise it will all get away from me and it will be the end of the year before i know it!

so! my craft achievements from this week

i was lucky enough to win a Homespun competition and got a 'how to make a stupid sock creature' kit!  so this is where i am up to with the little fella - he will go out as a Toy Society drop once he is finished

and this is the two buck block BOM from Kornacraft for this year - i chose the pink theme with the idea to make it into a quilt for puglet once i have finished them - i love the fabric!!

and i was lucky enough to go out to Quiltaholics yesterday and bought a jelly roll and some blue Christmas fabric (which is hard to come by!)

and for good measure, a cute shot of the little human loving his puglet sister

much love and happy crafting!

FINISHED! September Two Buck Block

this is the fifth in the series and apparently from here on in they are repeated, but in different materials

im not thrilled with this one - there were so many seams that my stitching went awry many times....

i think i may devise my own patterns rather than repeating the other ones... i guess we'll see

FINISHED! August two buck block, Jan's garden and Morgan's pillow

so in my absence from the blogging world, i have been crafting!

this is august's two buck block - i like the design very much, but am not at all fussed with the pink material....never mind!

this is Jan (my mother in law)'s birthday present!  my dad framed the embroidery for me in a frame i found at our local shops on sale!  lovely and a bargain - winner!

and this is a pillow i made for the little human's friend morgan.  not for any reason, other than the fact that she is a little champ, and a good friend to the little human.  she has a lovely gentle spirit and is a great example of sharing, caring and love.

FINISHED! two buck block update

i just realised that i haven't blogged about my recently completed two buck blocks.

here are the two for June and July

love doing them and using thangles - very easy to get nice points - and let's face it, i need all the help i can get :)

love the colour way too - im doing it through Kornacraft which i count as my LQS even though it is 20 minutes away :)  they are offering it in two colour ways - this one (pink) and another one that i think is brown?  they wanted to offer a more masculine one, but was a bit too dark for me.  so this one it is!  i haven't bought the finishing kit, as im not 100% sure what i want to do with them once they are finished, but fun in the meantime

and $2!  can't go wrong ;)

today's fun!

happy crafty pug today!!!!!
wednesday's is my 'day off' when my lovely hubby looks after the little human. this has been so that i can use the day to do my study - but today i FINISHED my last assignment for the semester - yay!!!
so that got done around 1pm - so i spent the rest of the day crafting!
so much fun!

i finished piecing all the blocks for the birdie quilt - see sample of blocks below. now i just have to work out what colour sashing and border to add.....

i also pieced another strip of the log cabin onto jan's quilt, and i started putting together my 'two buck block' BOM with Thangles from my fave quilt shop "Kornakraft" in Gawler. month 1 done, and month 2 underway. this is easily the neatest block i have ever made - go thangles!

very easy to use - you put the two pieces of fabric together and then sew the thangles strip to them. then cut them up and iron as below...

so neat once you have ripped the paper off the back

and look at those corners lining up! so proud of myself :) he he

ahhhhhhhhhhhh, a happy pug tonight
